My Toast is big

It really is, it's like twice the size of normal toast. It was sticking out of the toaster and everything
I'm all alone
Mike isn't coming home tonight, he's taken to going fishing with his dad and staying over, but I'm going to my mum's tomorrow so I won't see him till tomorrow night. I'd stay over, but I'm working Friday night.
I want to go back to uni. Not meaning to be mean to Mike or anything but it will be nice to have a conversation that doesn't turn into being about World of Warcraft after about five minutes. He's obsessed, bless his heart.
Or the endless weekends of having to smile at customers and pretend to be interested in how they are while they buy petrol. I'll still have that, of course, but it will be interspersed with weeks of talking about books and essays and other stuff.
Sigh.
You'd think supersized toast would be nice but it was actually a bit dry.
Oh no, I'm missing Neighbours! *reaches for the telly* meh I can't reach it, a well, I'll just have to carry on listening to music then =P

Reeeeet

So I finally succumbed to the tempatation of myspace, and began neglecting little old msn space. In my defence, everyone I knew was using mysace and I hadn't seen a ginle new blog in, ooooh, a few days. That may also be something to do with the fact I'm hardly ever allowed on the goddamn computer, I've taken to jumping on when Mike's in bed. I think I phrased that wrong. That wasn't meant to sound dirty, I meant jumping on the computer.
I miss having a life. I went out on Saturday, to a quiz, with my parents and my brother and his new girlfriend. We won, but it was hardly the reatest night out I've ever been on. Hopefully when I have money, and when Mike has a job *ahem* we will be able to do stuff. It's summer!! (Not that you'd be able to tell from looking out the window) We should be enjoying ourselves! I'm 21 in...less than a month. I'm beginning to feel middle aged.

I am so bored

But it's a beautiful day and I should be outside enjoying myself. Only problem is there's nothing to do...apart from uni work which I know I have to do but I don't want to. I spent all day yesterday trying to decide what pieces I'm going to write about in my second essay on American lit and I'm still not sure. Drama's the one thing I'm quietly confident on, and we STILL haven't got our studying fiction essays back!! It's a nightmare. On the upside my cake went down well. It's a little bit HELLO I TASTE OF ICING SUGAR but other than that it's pretty nice, if I do say so myself.
I'm going to have a cup of tea and change the channel so I'm no longer listening to Tina Turner...

Bakin' a cake and listenin' to Less Than Jake

Mike is in bed, and it's his birthday tomorrow, so I'm baking him a cake. Just an ordinary sponge cake mind (recipe coutesty of James Martin and the BBC food website) only I thought I'd experiment a bit and poured some chocolate chips into the mix before I shoved it in th'oven. I'm gonna do a buttercream filling for the middle, then normal icing sugar/water stuff for the top, and I bought some writing icing to draw something on top. The icing thing is the only test of my culinary abilities. Don't ask me why, but I have never been able to do icing. It ALWAYS goes wrong (even if I cheat and use a cake mix).I dunno why icing hates me so much, but fingers crossed this time.
Anyway, enough talk of cakes. Things are starting to look up on the money front - I have a job, sort of. I haven't started it yet, the manager is suppose to ring me and let me know when he wants me to come in for a training day and he hasn't yet, but he will because my friend from uni works there, unless she decides she doesn't want me there anymore.
Okay I just looked in the oven and for some reason the cake mix has leaked. It desperately needs rescuing. Better go!

Who loves the chocolate?

Everyone loves the chocolate
Nobody hates the chocolate
'Cause everyone loves the chocolate!

Well, it is Easter after all. And I have a dairy milk caramel mug to drink lots of tea out of. I should really do some work so I'm not all brain fried when I go back to uni and all I can think of is the chocolate, but hey. Tis the season to get lardy, fa la la la laaa la la la la. And even I could do with a bit of exercisement (apologies for the language)

How come nobody is on MSN when I am anymore? People must think I've turned into some kind of hermit.

David Tennant is on Ready Steady Cook. I can't believe I've started regularly watching this programme. I'm such a student. Next I'll be applying to go on Countdown.

Medea vs Hamlet

Ugh, trying to find secondary material on an essay that is just a compare and contrast is difficult. It's way too broad to look for something specific.
I got two books on Hamlet and one on Greek tragedies but they don't seem to offer anything to use in my comparison. I also can't find any contrasts.
Oh well. I've got till Friday. And I don't have any proper lessons tomorrow, just an hour lecture then a tutorial so I'll have time tomorrow night to finish it off.
Now I have to watch Due South. When will I ever get time to do this essay?! Lol.

Mother's Day

Off to Kidderminster tomorrow...hopefully I'll be able to get a bunch of flowers and a couple of cards from SOMEWHERE although I've left it a little late methinks. Though she should appreciate me turning up so that should be a Mother's Day present in itself. I know, I'll do the washing up. I just hope nothing goes wrong since I'm stopping till Monday.

Also I'll be knackered since its technically quarter to 2 and I'm still up.
And we have to sleep on the floor in the living room at the moment since we've just decorated our bedroom (it looks lovely) and it stinks of paint. So that's great.

On the up side I got a B for my drama essay which I thought was rubbish and it was handed in a day late. It said it was excellent in places but got confused, which was surprising since I thought it was confused all the way through. At least I was confused all the way through... so that's 1/5 of the module passed.

Incidentally, Gene Hackman just killed a man by knocking him out of a train window with a fire extinguisher. Innovative man, that Gene Hackman.
